One of Brantley Gilbert‘s band members decided it was time for a new look and took the opportunity to also play a prank on his boss.

Brantley’s guitar player decided to shave off his beard for some reason. The new look is something apparently Brantley has never seen on his friend and band member.

The country music singer-songwriter was preparing to go on stage for the night’s concert when the guitar player came rushing up to him like a fan that had somehow gotten through security to get an autograph.

He also asked Brantley to wish his distant relative a happy birthday. When Brantley explains he doesn’t have time the “fan” walks away expresses his disappointment in not getting the birthday wish on the phone in a way that had to be bleeped out.

It was at this time that the rest of the band and crew revealed the fan’s true identity to Brantley. His reaction to getting prank’d is quite fun!

Brantley posted the video of the backstage fun to his Twitter account and Facebook page which we have shared at the top of the page. The message “When your guitar player cuts his beard…. jokes on me” accompanied the video.
