Maren Morris is releasing the final single called “Rich” from her debut studio album Hero and she has let her fans choose it.
Maren recalls the inspiration behind the song when she wrote it, “I wrote this song basically as a kiss off to any guy that tries to pull a fast one on you and it’s happened so many times that if you had a dollar for every time it happened you’d be rolling in it.”
The song has been a real crowd pleaser since she first started performing it in her shows. “I remember from the first headline tour I did over a year ago. Everyone in the crowd was singing the chorus so loud that I was completely stunned,” Maren shares. “From the Bowery in New York City to Shepherds Bush Empire in London, my fans grabbed a hold of ‘Rich’ and never let go, so I wanted my debut album to go out with a bang! This is for them.”
Timing can be everything with singles, and for the country music singer-songwriter the time seems perfect for this song. “‘Rich’ feels like the perfect, confidant, laugh-the-B.S.-off-with-your-friends kind of song to go into spring with,” Maren explains, “More importantly, ‘Rich’ is the first time we’ve really let fans pick the single, so it was a no-brainer to make it my final single from Hero.”
Maren’s album Hero is available digitally and in music stores everywhere now.
Maren has won a Grammy, a CMA Award and an ACM Award, so she must be doing something right. Her fan base keeps growing, so as the old show business saying goes, “Give the people what they want.”

You will see what she explained about the audience singing the song back to her loud and proud. Just be forewarned, this is the album/live version of the song and has a couple of cuss-words in it. Not the worst words you can think of, but if you have young children around or you are at work, be careful when watching it.
Personally I think this is going to be a HUGE hit. Time will tell if Maren, her fans and I are right about the new single.
