Jordan Davis is one of the new country music singer-songwriters making a name for himself across the nation.
Jordan was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. You could say that music is in his blood since his uncle, Stan Paul Davis” wrote two hit songs for Tracy Lawrence, “Today’s Lonely Fool” and “Better Man, Better Off.” At the age of 12 Jordan began playing guitar.
Jordan went to Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a major in resource conservation. He graduated in 2012 and took an entry-level environmental job. However, his dreams of music persisted. He sent unfinished songs to his brother Jacob who had moved to Nashville and became a song writer.
Jacob played some of the songs for a music executive who in turn urged Jordan to move to Nashville. Jordan quit his job in Louisiana and moved to Nashville.
After spending four years of doing jobs like tending bar while writing songs, Jordan signed a recording contract with Universal Music Group Nashville and added to the MCA Nashville artist roster in 2016.
Jordan’s debut single is called “Singles You Up” which he co-wrote with Steven Dale Jones and Justin Ebach. The song is climbing the country airplay singles charts. It is currently just outside the top 20 at #21 this week on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts.
