Maren Morris looks to Keith Urban as a professional and personal role model for herself.

Keith gave Maren her first chance at a major tour to get out in front of audiences all over the place. That gave Maren a chance to learn from an artist who has won Grammy Awards, CMA Entertainer of the Year and more during his career as well as amassing 23 number one singles from multiple gold and platinum albums.

Maren Morris got engaged last year to Ryan Hurd and she says that Keith was one of the first to congratulate her.

“He congratulated me when I got engaged,” she shares, “and hearing from Keith, you know, the guy that gave me my first tour and that huge opportunity he texted me and he said, ‘Congrats, love is an amazing thing isn’t it’.”

Maren was grateful her first tour boss took the time to reach out to her, “It was just such a cool thing to hear from him.”

As the young country singer-songwriter prepared for the next chapter of her personal life, she was again able to look to that first tour boss and his wife, actress Nicole Kidman for a personal life lesson.

“I look up to him and Nicole a lot and how they work their careers and also each other,” Maren explains, “You know, they’re so there for each other and you can see that.”
