The Knockout Rounds premiered last night (10/30) on season 13 of The Voice. What happened with Blake Shelton and Team Blake? Here’s a re-cap for you.

Blake teamed Adam Cunningham with Esera Tuaolo for his first head-to-head competition in the Knockout Rounds. Season 14 new coach for The Voice and pop superstar Kelly Clarkson is serving as the mentor for all of the teams during this round where the artists pick the songs they will perform.

Adam chose to sing Chris Stapleton‘s “Either Way” for this round. He did a great job on the song as you can watch in the video below.

Esera picked the Luther Vandross version of the song “Superstar” for his Knockout Round performance. The song definitely fit his voice very well. Watch for yourself in the video below.

When both performances were over Blake had a very difficult decision to make, which artist would he move forward to the live playoffs on Team Blake? He decided to keep Esera on his team moving forward.

However, Adam’s time on The Voice did not end as Adam Levine wasted no time pressing his button to steal the country singer to Team Adam.

Among the other Knockout Round performances last night was Chloe Kohanski versus Ashland Craft from Team Miley.

Chloe sang the song “Landslide” by Stevie Nicks. She put her unique voice to work and infused the performance with plenty of emotion and feeling as you will see watching the video below.

Ashland decided to take on the song “Wanted Dead Or Alive” by Bon Jovi. AShland did a good job performing the iconic song. Watch her performance below.

Personally I felt Chloe won the battle. However, Miley Cyrus chose to keep Ashland on her team moving forward. That left Chloe available for a steal. Both Blake and Jennifer Hudson hit their buttons simultaneously to bring the singer to their respective teams.

Both coaches presented themselves as the one that the indie-pop artist should choose. I felt like Blake was a bit more passionate in his argument and Adam chimed in at the end to unexpectedly endorse Blake as the way Chloe should go. She did choose to join Team Blake.

You can see where all of the teams stand following the first night of the Knockout Rounds on The Voice Season 13 at the official website of The Voice here.

Blake is very busy this week. The Knockout Rounds continue on The Voice tonight starting at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern time) on NBC. He was on Jimmy Fallon last night promoting his new album Texoma Shore that will drop this Friday, November 3rd. You can check out videos of his appearance on Fallon here.
