Newcomer Carly Pearce says her debut single “Every Little Thing” is a true story and it is hers.
The singer-songwriter was born in Marion, Indiana, but moved to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee at the age of 16 to work at Dollywood as she began chasing her dreams of being a country star. The 27-year-old is seeing her dreams become reality 11 years later.
Carly explains where the lyrics of her debut single found their foundation, “It was written out of my story, out of a really dark time for me of losing what I think was my first big love.”
She shares that this song has deep meaning for her as the writer, “This is probably the most honest song I’ve ever written just of each line being my story.”
While the song got its catalyst from a dark time, Carly explains there is positive from it as well, “It’s been amazing just to … see the victory in something that was so painful and such a hard time and then hearing other people’s stories about it.”
That debut single is currently climbing the country radio airplay charts and is in the top 15 this week. Listen for it on B104!
Carly recently announced that her debut album will be named the same as her debut single. The album will drop October 13th. Check out the track list with song writer credits below.
