Dierks Bentley is out on his “What The Hell World Tour” with special guests Cole Swindell and Jon Pardi. Cole says that Dierks has given him a new view of the stars.
You might think I am talking about Cole’s latest single “Flatliner” that features Dierks. While that single is climbing the country radio airplay singles charts poised to possibly hit number one in the next week or two as it sits in the #2 position on both the Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck charts … that is not what I am talking about.
Recently Dierks took Cole up in his personal airplane. Dierks was piloting the aircraft and invited Cole to sit in the co-pilot’s seat.
“He let me sit up front,” Cole shares, “You know I had never seen the stars that close.”
The whole experience was apparently quite amazing to Cole, “It was unbelievable to have that view”
“I had flown private a couple of times, not many times,” he confesses, “definitely not in the front seat and to just get to see that, man it’s a different view than you get any other time flying.”
Did the experience give Cole the desire to get his pilot’s license like Dierks? He says he can see why Dierks loves to fly. However, “I won’t be flying any time or being the pilot any time soon, but I could see how you could fall in love with that, just the freedom of it,” Cole admits, “I could see Dierks … why he loves to do that. It’s a good get away I’ll tell ya.”
Perhaps Dierks will invite Cole to the front of the plane again and actually let him take the controls next time. That could change Cole’s mind about learning to fly.
