Toby Keith will be inducted to the Songwriters Hall of Fame this week and he says that is the biggest honor of his career.

Toby will be in New York City at the Marriott Marquis for a special ceremony Thursday where he along with Cyndi Lauper, Linda Perry, Bobby Braddock, Willie Dixon and Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter will all be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

We told you earlier in the year when the list of inductees were revealed that Toby said this award will be the only one he will display on his desk. Now the man that many call the “Big Dog Daddy” explains even further on how this award is the biggest of his career.

“My 60 or 70 awards I have at my house, you put ’em all together and melted ’em into one trophy, that’s still not as big as this trophy. This is my ultimate trophy. There’ll never be anything you can give me that’s bigger than this,” Toby told News OK.

The Oklahoma native continues, “There’s a whole bunch of other people that are very deserving to be in there, and for you to get in there this early in your career, it means you busted you’re a**.”

Toby will not only be inducted Thursday night at the ceremony, he will also perform for all in attendance.

How’s this for an amazing fact about his songwriting abilities over his career so far: Toby has written a number song every year for 20 consecutive years!

Congratulations to Toby Keith on being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame later this week, a very well deserved honor.
