Miranda Lambert just released the music video for her latest single “Tin Man” and it is a simply incredible version of the song.
I have said for many years that I am more impressed when I see an artist perform a song a two during a concert with just them and an acoustic guitar. When that is all there is it is nearly impossible to hide any mistakes or shortcomings in their voice.
Miranda Lambert has taken that idea a step further by recording herself with her guitar in the shower for her latest music video. What makes the fact that the performance by the reigning ACM Female Vocalist of the Year even more incredible is that not only is it just her and her guitar, the whole thing appears to be one non-stop continuous take.
I imagine the reason the video is set in a shower is simply because of the great acoustics for the recording. However, since the song is about heartbreak … anybody who has experienced this kind of loss knows that when you are alone that feeling seems to come to the surface more intensely. The setting for the unplugged music video could be using that symbolism as well as the great acoustics by being in the shower.
The bottom line is that this black-and-white, unplugged version of Miranda Lambert’s song “Tin Man” is breathtaking, chilling and powerful all at the same time.
The song is on Miranda’s #1 double-album “The Weight of These Wings” available everywhere now.
