Last night (5/23) was the two-hour season finale of The Voice Season 12. There were a lot of superstar performances and at the end of the show the final voting results were revealed.
The show featured performances by many of today’s biggest names in all genres of music including Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town and Chris Stapleton.
Some of the performances featured the return of some of season 12’s most popular artists that had been eliminated prior to the finale. For example, Brennley Brown got to join Rascal Flatts on stage to perform the trio’s current single “Yours If You Want It.” That performance was posted to YouTube and you can watch it below.
Team Blake finalist Lauren Duski was invited to join Little Big Town to perform their most recent number one song “Better Man.”
Chris Stapleton took the stage and performed his current single “Either Way.”
After all of the amazing performances, it was finally it was time for the Final Four to find out the results of the voting. Carson Daly revealed that Team Adam’s Jesse Larson finished in fourth place. He then revealed that Team Blake’s Aliyah Moulden was the third place artist.
That left Lauren Duski with her coach Blake Shelton and Chris Blue with his coach Alicia Keys waiting to find out who would be named the winner. You can watch the announcement in the video below.
Congratulations to Chris Blue on being named the winner of The Voice Season 12. Although she didn’t win, I have no doubt that we will be hearing Lauren Duski on country radio in the very near future. Additionally, I would bet that Aliyah Moulden will be heard on pop radio and perhaps even something to do with Disney TV and/or movies or animated features … she is just too talented and cute!
For those of you keeping track of the winning coaches, this is the first win for Alicia Keys. She joins Usher, Pharrell Williams and Christina Aguilera as coaches with a single win on the show. Adam Levine still has three wins as a coach and Blake Shelton remains the coach with most wins at five in the 12 seasons of The Voice.
Season 13 of The Voice will be this fall on NBC with Adam Levine and Blake returning (as always) as coaches. Miley Cyrus will make her return to the coaches chair with Jennifer Hudson joining for the first time as the fourth coach. I know I will be watching!
