Last night (5/15) the Top 8 on season 12 of The Voice performed in the semi-finals. How did they do?
First of all, let’s set the scene for last night’s live performance show.
Blake Shelton has three artists in the Top 8, Gwen Stefani and Alicia Keys each has two artists and Adam Levine has a single artist still in the competition.
Carson Daly revealed at the start of the show that the contestants would be pairing off for duets that would also count toward their votes for the chance to advance to next week’s final four. Although I am not sure how those songs/votes will be counted for votes per each artist.
The usual methods of voting are also still being used including the iTunes sales for each artist’s performance from last night. I checked the iTunes charts at 8:30 am central time this morning and below are the solo performances and duets listed in the order they were ranked on iTunes when I checked.
{Artist Name(s) – Team(s)}
#1 – Lauren Duski – Team Blake
#2 – Chris Blues – Team Alicia
#6 – Chris Blue/Vanessa Ferguson – Team Alicia/Team Alicia
#7 Aliyah Moulden – Team Blake
#10 – Hunter Plake – Team Gwen
#15 – Jesse Larson – Team Adam
#19 – Aliyah Moulden/Hunter Plake – Team Blake/Team Gwen
#25 – Brennley Brown/Lauren Duski – Team Gwen/Team Blake
#26 – Vanessa Ferguson – Team Alicia
#43 – Bennley Brown – Team Gwen
#49 – Jesse Larson/TSoul – Team Adam/Team Blake
#68 – TSoul – Team Blake
The iTunes sales is only one method of voting and all voting remains open until 11:00 am central time (12 noon eastern time). With that in mind and the duet voting, I am not even going to speculate on which artists could be facing elimination tonight.
I can tell you that tonight there will be four contestants that are eliminated and four that will be in the season 12 finale of The Voice next week with a chance to win no matter which team they are on Team Blake, Team Adam, Team Gwen or Team Alicia.
Tonight the live elimination show of The Voice Season 12 will begin at 7 pm central time (8 pm eastern time) and we will all find out the results together with the coaches and artists.
