The live eliminations were held last night (5/9) on The Voice Season 12 for the Top 10. In preparation for next week’s semi-finals, two artists were sent home and are no longer in contention of winning the hit NBC TV singing competition.
The show was kicked off by the reigning CMA New Artist and ACM New Female Vocalist of the Year Maren Morris performing her new single “I Could Use A Love Song” live on the show. Watch that performance in the video below.
While the artists that were sent through to next week’s semi-finals by America’s vote were revealed, we also got to see the coaches and artists talk about their mom’s in a special Mother’s Day Confessional. Some of the contestants’ moms were right there with them. Watch that special salute to mom on The Voice below.
To answer the question at the top of the page, NONE of Blake Shelton‘s remaining three artists were eliminated last night. Through the first part of the episode we found out Team Blake artists Aliyah Moulden, Lauren Duski and TSoul all received enough votes to advance to the semi-finals.
It was also revealed that both of Gwen Stefani’s remaining artists on Team Gwen Brennley Brown and Hunter Plake advanced to next week’s show.
Team Adam’s Jesse Larson and Team Alicia’s Chris Blue were both advanced through the voting overnight to the semi-finals on The Voice Season 12.
That left Adam Levine with two artists, Lilli Passero and Mark Isaiah, in the bottom three and needing the Twitter Save to remain on the show. This was the fourth consecutive week that Mark faced elimination. Since only one artist would get the instant save, Adam would definitely be losing at least one member of his team.
Vanessa Ferguson from Team Alicia was the third artist in the bottom three. Alicia Keys could see her team go from two to one artist heading to next week.
The three artists performed the songs below that they had picked themselves in case they had to sing for the Twitter Save.
The Twitter Instant Save window was opened after the performances and the race to remain was on. Watch the video below to see what the results were.
Adam saw his team go from three to one in just a single night. Alicia and Gwen each move forward with two artists on their respective teams while Blake has three artists in the Top 8 on The Voice.
Next week’s semi-finals on season 12 of The Voice will be the most treacherous for the artists and coaches. The number of contestants will go from eight to just FOUR on elimination night. That means any team, including Blake’s, could be completely eliminated from contention next week.
We will see how the artists and coaches handle the added pressure when the live performances for the semi-finals on season 12 of The Voice begin Monday night, May 15th starting at 7:00 PM central time (8:00 PM eastern time) on NBC.
