Cole Swindell and the duo LoCash are excited about being at this weekend’s 52nd ACM Awards Show for different reasons.
It’s a first for both country music acts, but different firsts for them each.
Cole won the ACM New Artist of the Year Award at the 2015 ACM Awards. However, this year he gets to perform on the televised awards show for the first time. Cole will be joined by Dierks Bentley (one of the show’s co-hosts) to perform their collaboration song “Flatliner.”
Cole reveals how he felt when asked to perform the song on the show, “I remember it was just like, you’re good to go Dierks has to confirm it, you know and I’m like, ‘Oh God, I hope he…’ Cause he’s got…he’s hosting, he’s already performing I mean, that’s a lot.”
Cole is very grateful that Dierks agreed to perform with him on the show. “Him and Luke right now they got a lot going on and for him to know what a big deal that is for me, for my career everything and the song,” he shares.
“For him to [say] ‘Yeah, I wanna do it,’ it’s a big thing,” Cole confesses, “I sent him a long text just letting him know and he’s totally cool with it so I’m pumped to get to Vegas.”
For Chris Lucas and Preston Brust who are the duo LoCash, this weekend’s ACM Awards mark the first time they have been nominated. They were nominated for New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year. While Brothers Osborne have already been announced as the winners in that category, it doesn’t dampen the excitement that LoCash has about being in Vegas this weekend for the awards show.
“Dude we’re so pumped to be even nominated it’s a win for us regardless,” Chris explains, “It’s just an amazing feeling because you’re working so hard for this moment and finally, you know, we get the recognition that we’ve worked for. And to be one of the new artists of the year is a fantastic feeling.”
Preston points out that the duo will be ready in every way for the ACM weekend in Vegas, “We got custom suits made for the red carpet.” That won’t be the only place that LoCash will be seen in Vegas though, “Yeah and we’re also doing the ‘Party For A Cause‘ man,” Chris shares, “The ‘Party for a Cause’ show at the House of Blues. It’s cool to be a part of such a great charity.”
Congratulations to Cole Swindell and LoCash on both of your firsts with the 52nd ACM Awards, Sunday April 2nd 8/7 central live on CBS.
