Hendrick Motorsports Teammates Chase Elliott and Dale Earnhardt Jr. will start of the front row for the Daytona 500.
Last Sunday (2/19) pole qualifying was held at Daytona International Speedway for the first points race of the 2017 NASCAR season, the Daytona 500.
When the qualifying was complete it was Chase Elliott that drove his #24 Napa Auto Parts Chevrolet the fastest to earn his second pole in a row for the Daytona 500.
Chase’s time of 46.663 seconds at a speed of 192.872 mph was enough to just edge out his teammate Dale Jr. for the pole position by 0.0020 seconds. Dale Jr. will still get to start on the front row next to Chase for the Daytona 500.
The rest of the field will be set with the Can-Am Duel races this Thursday night (2/23).
Congratulations to Chase Elliott on his second consecutive pole for the Daytona 500 and Dale Earnhardt Jr. for earning the other spot on the front row for the race.
