Country music viral sensation Oliver Anthony posted an update about his life one year after “Rich Men North Of Richmond” made him famous.

Oliver’s song grabbed the attention of country music fans without the help of a record label or the Nashville Music Industry. The song went viral after being posted on YouTube having racked up more than 158 million views to date.

Over the past year Oliver has done it all on his own. He has played the Houston Rodeo for 70,000 fans. He was invited to play at the Grand Ole Opry. He has toured across the country.

Oliver says he has done it the way he wanted to do it and it has worked out the way he hoped it would for himself and his family.

“I’m almost through with the tour this year. I’ve done it without a label. I’ve done it without sponsors. I haven’t taken a dime from anyone . . . I never have to work again for the rest of my life.”

He shares that the past year has given him exactly what he wants, “To just have my land and my house and a roof that doesn’t leak. And a place that I can grow a garden and raise a few cows and sheep and be alive . . . And try to live life the way my grandparents lived their lives.”
