Carrie Underwood Replacing Katy Perry on ‘Idol’

Carrie Underwood will replace Katy Perry as judge on American Idol.

According to Variety, ABC is expected to announce the news today, August 1st.

Carrie won the show in 2005 and is arguably the most successful Idol Alum. She has returned to the show several times since competing as both a mentor and a performer.

Auditions for the new season are set to begin nationwide August 12th.

“Idol Across America” auditions will be held as follows (subject to change):
