Blake Shelton departed The Voice, but he won’t end his fun rivalry with Adam Levine. With Adam back as a coach for Season 27, Blake wants to help Kelsea Ballerini, the new red chair holder, beat him.

Adam was one of the original four singing competition coaches, so Kelsea knows he’s a pro. “I feel very strongly I’m going to have to really fight Adam Levine,” she joked with People Magazine

“I realize his return is huge, but I think we’ll be enemies. Just kidding. Blake has given me hints on how to defeat him!”

Kelsea is experienced. She was the “Fifth Coach” in Season 15 of The Voice‘s digital series “Comeback Stage” and an advisor for Team Kelly Clarkson the following season. She also served as a fill-in coach after Kelly got sick in Season 20.

Wouldn’t it be a great surprise if Blake served as the Team Kelsea mentor in season 27!

It will be a minute before we see how this all plays out. Season 26 is next with Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, Michael Bublé, and Snoop Dogg serving as coaches. Adam Levine and Kelsea Ballerini will be joined in season 27 by John Legend and Michael Bublé in the red coaching chairs.
