Last night was the 59th ACM Awards Show. Jason Aldean’s tribute to Toby Keith was arguably the best moment of the show.

Blake Shelton began the tribute by talking about his fellow Okie and friend before introducing Jason to the audience.

Jason took the stage to perform a stripped-down, slowed-down version of Toby’s signature song “Should Have Been A Cowboy.” Jason knew how important this performance was to honor his friend and American Icon that we lost to cancer in early February.

Toby’s family expressed their thanks for the incredible way Jason handled this tribute through Toby’s social media.

Thanks Jason for your amazing tribute to Toby Keith who meant so much to country music.
