Actor Eamonn Walker is taking a step back from Chicago Fire after season 12.

Eamonn plays “Wallace Boden” on the TV series. The character is both the head of Station 51 (the show’s home base) and Deputy District Chief of District 4.

The report from Deadline indicates that while Eamonn is stepping back, he will make appearances as “Wallace Boden” in seasons to come.

As a fan of the show myself, I am sorry to hear of this. I just hope the show handles his character’s replacement well.

Other main characters that have left Chicago Fire include: Sylvie Brett, Matthew Casey, Blake Gallo, Gabriela Dawson, Leslie Shay, Peter Mills, Hallie Thomas and Brian “Otis” Zvonecek.

Apparently, we will find out the circumstances around Boden’s departure in the season 12 finale, titled “Never Say Goodbye,” when it airs may 22nd.
