CBS Sunday Morning shared the story of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) was used to create the new Randy Travis song “Where That Came From.”

The report above from Lee Cowan shares how the stroke Randy suffered has affected his ability talk and sing. With the help of AI and singer James DuPre, they say Randy was able to “get his voice back” for this new song.

Is it really Randy’s voice though? Technically the answer is no. But, is this any different from a person with a prosthetic leg being able to walk?

Actual recording of Randy’s voice were used to create the AI generated voice. Randy himself gave his approval and participated in the process as much as he could. So, can we call this a real Randy Travis song?

I’ll be honest, I like the song. I’m impressed with how this all was done. However, I’m not sure how I feel about calling this a certified “Randy Travis Song.” Share your opinion with us.
