During a family trip to Fiji for her 80th birthday, Donna’s granddaughter Brisa Hennessy surprised her with a surf lesson. Donna caught a wave on just her second try.

The special moment was captured on video and shared online, with Donna describing the experience as feeling like a “runaway freight train.”

Brisa is an Olympic surfer for Team Costa Rica. She and Donna appeared on the Kelly Clark Show together. Brisa said she taught her grandma to surf so she could feel what it was like before watching her do it during the Olympics this summer.
