Morgan Wallen has had success with songs about alcohol-soaked, on-again, off-again relationships, such as “Wasted on You,” “Last Night,” “Thinkin’ ‘Bout Me,” and “You Proof.”
Now he is back with another dark, twisted storytelling song. Over the weekend, Wallen teased an unreleased track on social media, pairing raw, demo-style production with a painful story about love gone wrong.
The song’s title from the minute-long teaser is unclear, but it is likely “I Guess.” The singer wrote “I Guess” in the caption, and fellow country artist Ernest, a frequent collaborator, confirmed it in the comments.
In addition to the 660,000-plus likes, several country musicians praised the song. Randy Houser tweeted two “fire” emojis. “Release that exactly how it is. So good,” Parker McCollum advised Wallen.
Somehow a person on YouTube got hold of the entire 3:58 song and posted it with a lyric video. Check it out below before it is removed.
What do you think of Wallen’s teased song, “I Guess?” Should he release it?
