Reports are circulating that a sequel to The Grinch will be coming soon.

Although the reports are swirling and fans are clamoring for a sequel, a rep for Jim Carrey has revealed that he won’t be back to play The Grinch. “There is no truth to Jim reprising his role as The Grinch,” said the rep to People.

Jim first played the grumpy green Grinch in the live-action 2000 film based on the classic book by Dr. Seuss.

The film would go on to become one of Carrey’s most successful films of his career grossing $345 million worldwide. The 61-year-old announced his retirement from acting last year.
