Three of the local high school teams here in Central Illinois won their Quarterfinal games and advance to the IHSA Football Semifinals. Two of them remain undefeated this season.
One of the Class 2A Quarterfinal games had a good news-bad news scenario, as I pointed out last week. Two local teams faced off guaranteeing one local team would advance (good news) and one local team would be eliminated (bad news). Maroa (M.-Forsyth) found themselves on the good news side of the scenario and keeps their undefeated season going with a record of 12-0. Bloomington Central Catholic was on the bad news side bringing an end to their season at 11-1, a season worth being proud of in every way.
Washington won in Class 6A to advance with a record of 11-1.
Normal Community was able to keep their undefeated season alive. They advance in Class 7A with a 12-0 record.
The game times for the IHSA Football Semifinals will be announced later this week.
