Tomorrow is the first official day of fall. Here are five things you need to know…

1 – The Autumnal Equinox officially happens at 1:50 a.m. central time Saturday, September 23rd. So, in the middle of the night tonight.

2 – The Autumnal Equinox occurs when the sun moves directly over the Earth’s equator. That brings an equal amount of daylight and darkness on the day it occurs. Therefore, we should get around 12 hours of both light and dark Saturday.

3 – Meteorologists and climatologists split the year into four “meteorological seasons” and to them, fall began on September 1st.

4 – There will be a special full moon next week.  It’s the “harvest moon” and it’ll occur at 4:58 a.m. central time Friday, September 29th.  It will also be the fourth and final “supermoon” of the year. That means it will appear slightly bigger and brighter than a typical full moon.

5 – And last, if you HATE fall for whatever reason, Thursday, December 21st is the start of winter.

What is your favorite season?
