Jameson Rodgers has dropped a new song called “Mine For The Summer” that could be a new summer anthem.
The singer-songwriter explains that the song about life and love in the summer was written when it was cold.
“‘Mine For The Summer’ is a song, ironically, I wrote in the middle of the winter. I wrote it with Brent Anderson, Smith Ahnquist, and Jake Mitchell on a writing retreat. And we had just sat down and Jake had kind of started playing this groove that kind of felt like Iris from the Goo Goo Dolls; that song from the 2000s that I’ve loved for a long time. And so we wanted to write a song that gave us that same kind of feeling and emotion and this was our best attempt. It’s one of my favorite songs I’ve written.”
To me the song’s message is about accepting love no matter if it is for a lifetime or just this moment in time.
Did you ever have a special connection with another person for just one summer?
