Blake Shelton only had one Team Blake performance in the Battle Rounds last night (3/28) on The Voice. However, it gave him a difficult decision to make.
Blake paired 17-year-old Mary Kate Connor with 19-year-old Kylee Dayne for this Battle Round performance. He gave the girls Taylor Swift’s very recent hit single “Anti-Hero” to perform. Both singers did an excellent job in the performance. They have unique styles and tones in their voices. However, they blended together very well. I wasn’t sure which direction Blake would or should go.
The video of the performance was posted as a teaser for the episode. Therefore, it does not show what Blake decided.
Blake announced Kylee as the winner of this Battle. When Carson was about to ask Mary Kate if there was anything she wanted to say to Blake before she left, Blake asked if he could say something. He told Mary Kate, “In this business you will get a lot of ‘NOs’ before you get a ‘Yes.’ But this is not one of those times.” Blake then pressed his button to use his “Playoff Pass” to send Mary Kate directly to the Playoffs.
The Battle Rounds will continue Monday (4/3) at 7 p.m. central time (8 p.m. eastern time) on The Voice Season 23 on NBC.
