Jackson Dean scored a number one song with his very first single, “Don’t Come Lookin’.” He knows not every new artist is lucky enough to experience that. Therefore, when he thinks about the way country fans and country radio have embraced him and his music out of the gate, Jackson is a little overwhelmed and extremely grateful.
“Mentally, it’s a lot to handle for 22 years old, I think. It does make me want to go and get more of it. It’s a pretty crazy high. It’s a very intoxicating feeling, and especially having to have gotten to do it so much live, and play with the people that I have, and be playing the stages that I am, and making music with the people that I am. It’s really awesome, and it’s taken me down some trails I never thought that I would get to go down. I got to write some songs that I never thought that I would. It’s a really crazy thing to be in the center of, and it really makes me feel grateful for every minute of it.”
Jackson is hoping his follow-up single, “Fearless,” might follow the same path. That could mean that he will need to prepare for even more cool things are heading his way.
