Shane Profitt has shared that he didn’t pick up the guitar and start learning to play until he was 18. Now the 22-year-old reveals that he turned to the place a lot of us turn to learn how to do things … YouTube.
“YouTube is man’s best friend whenever he’s tryin’ to learn an instrument. There is thousands and thousands of people that teach you songs on YouTube, and especially old Bocephus songs. I learned G, C and D on the guitar, and you can only play so many songs with G, C and D. And I can’t read a lick of music whatsoever. If I could hear it, a lot of times I could play it. So, I would YouTube these songs and if I got stumped, I would YouTube a specific song and a specific chord, and they would explain how to cheat that chord or how to play that chord, and it definitely helped a lot.”
In addition to his current single “How It Oughta Be,” Shane just released the official video for another song off if his Maury County Line debut collection called “Guys Like Me.”
