Martin Truex Jr. went through all of 2022 without a trip to Victory Lane. That will not be the case for him in 2023.
While the Clash at the Coliseum is an exhibition race and did not score him any points, it did give Martin a checkered flag.
The second time the NASCAR Cup Series has run the Clash at the historic L.A. Coliseum was a little more exciting than the first. That is if you go by caution periods for on track incidents. Last year there were only five yellow flags issued. Yesterday there were three times as many with 16 cautions during the race.
There were five different drivers that led during the race. However, it was Martin Truex Jr. that was able to take the lead and keep it for the 25 laps to claim the win. Austin Dillon took home the runner-up finish with Kyle Busch claiming third. See the complete race results here.
Next up for the NASCAR Cup drivers and teams is Daytona International Speedway and the Daytona 500 to start the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Season Sunday, February 19th.
