Avatar: The Way of Water is the sequel to the world’s highest grossing film of all time. According to boxofficemojo.com The Way of Water brought in $134 million.

That is an impressive number and well more than enough to win the weekend. However, some reports are that the film cost around $350 million to make. That means the film will need to continue to have strong weeks at the box office to potentially break even.

The original Avatar movie only had an opening weekend of $77 million. We will have to see how The Way of Water performs over the next couple of weeks to see if it might follow in the footsteps of the original.
