Brett Young loves Christmas time and all of the music, decorations, presents and celebration that comes with it. However, he is also a preacher’s kid, so he was raised with a true understanding of the reason for the season. Brett makes sure Christ is a part of his own family’s Christmas celebration now that he is a husband and a father.
“Christmas is Christ in our house. I’m not ever gonna be the dad that doesn’t embrace the Santa Claus thing and all of the fun, but the message of Christ will always be the center of Christmas for us. Even if I wasn’t doing that properly, my dad would make sure that was a part of our holiday season. My dad does a great job of doing a very brief devotional and prayer before we open presents every Christmas morning, just kind of reminding the whole family that the reason that we’re here is bigger than Santa coming down with presents out of the chimney. And so, it is the faith that brought me up, and it’s something that’s very important to me, and I’m very blessed to still have my parents and Taylor’s parents around to instill the message of Christ every Christmas.”
