Last night we found out which artist remained after the first Team Blake Battle Round performance. However, that was overshadowed by the BIG Blake Shelton news from The Voice.
Not to be anticlimactic, let’s deal with the results of the Team Blake Battle Rounds performance first. Monday night (10/10) Blake paired Austin Montgomery and Tanner Fussell. The two sang an amazing version of Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues.”
Last night’s (10/11) episode began with the results of that battle. Blake chose to keep Austin on his team moving forward. That sent Tanner home.
Now for the BIG Blake Shelton news. Yesterday (10/11) Blake Shelton posted the following message on his social media accounts.
NBC confirmed the news in a post on their website. Season 23 will be Blake’s final season on the show. He is the only coach to have been on every season to date. He is also the winningest coach on the show with eight victories. Next year for Blake’s final season he will be joined by returning coach Kelly Clarkson and two new coaches, Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper.
In the meantime, we can enjoy the current season of The Voice with Blake Shelton on NBC Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock.
