We have all been annoyed by the way people park in a public parking lot like they own it. If you haven’t ever felt that way, YOU may be the person that is annoying the rest of us.
Lifehacker.com asked their readers for the unwritten rules of parking lot etiquette. Below are the top 10 rules that should NEVER be broken when using a public parking lot.
- Don’t park in a handicap spot unless you are handicapped!
- Don’t block the flow of traffic waiting a long time for a spot . . . especially if you’re just randomly waiting and no one’s backing out anywhere nearby.
- Don’t park so you’re taking up multiple spaces.
- If you park poorly, try again. It’s better to take the time to re-park than to park on the lines.
- Don’t slowly tail people as they walk through the parking lot.
- When you get in your car to leave, leave quickly.
- Always return your shopping cart, don’t just leave it lying around the parking lot.
- Use your turn signals.
- Follow the arrows . . . don’t go the wrong way down an aisle.
- Don’t wait for a perfect spot if there are available spots further back.
