Luke Combs discusses his upcoming album Growin’ Up and his duet with Miranda Lambert, “Outrunnin’ Your Memory.”
Combs said the two artists didn’t set out to sing together. Co-writing started it all.
Combs told Good Morning America he’s been affected by Lambert’s writing approach, so her appearance isn’t a surprise. “There were no intentions in the songwriting other than, ‘Let’s go write a song that we both think is really good,’” said Combs.
“She’s somebody I’ve looked up to for so long as a songwriter. And what she does as an artist is, I think, super authentic and amazing as well,” Combs said. Growin’ Up drops on June 24th.
