The Houston Rodeo came to a close with the “King of Country” singing to a Texas sized crowd and giving away a home to a military family, like only George Strait can do.

The country music legend brought in a crowd of 79,452, which was this year’s biggest crowd of the three-week event.

In 2019, King George set the record for the rodeo with over 80,000 attending the event, and although he was just shy of beating that this year, he still holds the concert record!

“I hope you’ve got a couple of hours,” Strait says, setting the stage. “We’ve got a lot of songs to play tonight.”

Strait’s full-length concert marked his 31st appearance at The Houston Rodeo and commemorated the Rodeo’s 90th anniversary.

The only time George paused his performance was for what he called “his favorite part of the night.” George and the Military Warriors Support Foundation are partners in an initiative assisting wounded military members and their families.

His partnership provided an opportunity to publicly present two mortgage-free homes to Hero (Former) U.S. Army Specialist Daniel E. Day and Gold Star Spouse Michele Valent. These homes mark over 90 Mortgage-Free homes presented at George Strait events, since the partnership began.

Incredible!
