Nearly 40 years after it first debuted, the holiday movie classic “A Christmas Story” is finally getting a sequel, WITH it’s original Ralphie, Peter Billingsley.

“A Christmas Story Christmas” is being developed for HBO Max, set in the 1970s with Ralphie now as an adult returning to his home on Cleveland Street for a magical Christmas with his family. We all know how much fun going to your family home for Christmas as an adult can be, don’t we?

Will he get some adult sized bunny jammies, will anyone get their tongue stuck to a pole, will he shoot his eye out?

We do not have answers to any of those questions yet.

Truthfully, the only thing we know is that Peter is back as Ralphie, we don’t know if anyone else from the original film will be part of the sequel yet. Also, no word on a release date yet.

Did you know that the original film was actually considered a box office failure when it premiered in 1983? Now it is one of the most beloved holiday movies in cinema history, and is played 24-7 during the Christmas season.

Are you excited for the sequel?

Here’s one of the most iconic scenes.
