During the pandemic, Justin Moore mentioned wanting to start a garden, so we wondered if he did, and if so, how it went. Justin told us, “It did really well, too good to be honest with you. I’ve been givin’ vegetables away for months now. I was beggin’ people to take ‘em.”
One of the reasons Justin had way too many vegetables is because he got a little too aggressive with the size of his garden. “Honestly, we didn’t have a clue what we were doing because we’d never done it,” explains Justin.
He would help out his parents and grandparents with their gardens when he was growing up, but he was never the one in charge of the planning or managing the whole thing. So, for his first garden as an adult, he says. It was way too big. I think we did like 40 x 60 (feet) or somethin’ and we probably should’ve done like 10 x 20 (feet). We had three or four rows of certain things that we needed one of.”
While most everything grew like wildfire in Justin’s garden, he says, “The only thing that we kinda messed up on, I think we just didn’t get enough water on, was our tomatoes. We kind of flubbed those. But other than that, it did really good.”
