Brett Young has a lot to celebrate these days, including the recent arrival of his second daughter, Rowan Marie Young, who was born almost two weeks ago, on July 21st, but Brett, his wife Taylor and their almost two-year-old daughter Presley waited to share the news with the world until this past weekend. On Sunday (8/1), Brett’s wife celebrated her birthday, and to top it all off, Brett and Taylor will be celebrating one of their wedding anniversaries next week.
Most people know Brett and Taylor had a big wedding with all of their family and friends on November 3, 2018, but they revealed shortly afterward that actually, they were legally married back on August 10, 2018, in a little wedding chapel on Nashville’s Music Row. So, we wondered which anniversary they planned to celebrate every year, and Brett said, “In between Rhinestone Wedding Chapel in Nashville and November 3rd when we got married in Palm Springs, we actually had the conversation and we decided that we’re celebrating both every year. We’ll take an anniversary trip on November 3, which was when our friends and family celebrated with us, but we’re gonna do some sort of staycation, just the two of us, overnight on our legal anniversary.”
Some people were surprised to learn that Brett and Taylor had snuck off and got married with just the two of them and the chapel staff, but Brett reveals that it was really a practical matter. “Truth be told,” he says, “I didn’t want her to not have insurance anymore. So, we went and got married so I could add her to my insurance. And we knew we were ready. So, if we already know that, I don’t love the idea of my wife walking around uninsured, so let’s go get married.”
Brett says they made a day of their wedding adventure, “It was on Music Row and then we walked to Loser’s and we cheers-ed each other out of a plastic cup, and we made it special for us. So, we’re gonna celebrate both.”
So, happy anniversary to Brett and Taylor on August 10th, and we can wish them the same on November 13th. Also congratulations on the beautiful new baby.
