All Carly Pearce has ever wanted since she was a little girl is to become a successful country music singer. So, every time something happens in her career that makes her dream that much more of a reality, she can hardly believe it. Whether it was running around her house like a mad woman when she got her first CMA Award nomination, or screaming for any of the four CMA, ACM and CMT Awards she’s won so far, or crying hysterically when she was invited to become a member of the Opry, Carly admits she is anything but cool and calm in those moments.
“I don’t know how to explain it,” she says. “But just imagine little Carly growing up, dreaming of this becoming a reality one day. And so, I don’t know how my counterparts are so classy and composed because I absolutely don’t know how to control my excitement in these moments.”
Even though Carly is a grown woman and milestones of success are becoming more and more frequent in her career, she says, “I still feel like I’m just 16-year-old Carly at high school. I mean, I really do. And so, I still am just like ‘(gasp) What?! I get to do this?!”
Next month, not only has Carly been tapped to host the ACM Honors on August 25th, but she’ll also fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry when she is inducted on August 3rd.
Carly’s latest single “Next Girl” is climbing the charts. While we wait to see how she reacts if it hit’s number one, listen for the song on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.
Do you stay calm or go crazy when something really good happens for you?
