Jason Aldean has scored another #1 with his latest single “Blame It On You.” However, this one feels really sweet to Jason.
The advanced release of the Billboard Country Airplay singles chart shows “Blame It On You” jumping from number four to number one on this week’s chart. The advanced release of the Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles chart has Jason moving from #3 to #1 this week.
That gives Jason 25 career chart toppers. However, it is not that milestone number that makes the achievement extra special. It is who wrote the song. The song was co-written by Michael Tyler, Brian Gene White, John Edwards, Kurt Allison and Tully Kennedy. Kurt and Tully are long-time members of Jason Aldean’s band. Jason posted the following message about the song on Twitter.
Thank you for taking #BlameItOnYou to #1 this week. This one feels especially sweet bc it was written by 2 guys that have been with me for over 20 yrs. It’s our 25th #1 together but the 1st they have written that I sang on to get there. Thanks to everybody who had a part in it.🤙🏼 pic.twitter.com/RBacScJdBa
