The group Old Dominion are award winning performers in country music. However, they feel that they are song writers first.

Old Dominion has been named the Vocal Group of the Year by the CMAs, ACMs, and CMT Awards multiple times. They have scored seven number one singles as a band. However, the members of the group have also written chart topping singles for other artists including Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley and more. The groups Trevor Rosen says that writing songs is at the heart of who the members of Old Dominion are and is why they came to Nashville.

“We were songwriters first, and we really moved to Nashville to hone that craft, and we care a lot about that process, so havin’ the success as songwriters, I mean, we’re proud of that. And you know, it’s also helped the band, too. It’s helped sort of snowball things for us, so both things go hand in hand. It’s been exciting.”

It looks like another Old Dominion has written another song that is going to be a success. Their latest single “I Was On A Boat That Day” is getting rapid success both on the charts and with country radio listeners. You can hear the song on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.
