Country singer and Pistol Annies member, Ashley Monroe, has revealed she has a rare blood cancer.
On Tuesday, July 13, Ashley shared that the diagnosis came after routine blood work a few months ago, she has Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia, which is a rare type of cancer that causes bone marrow to overproduce white blood cells.
After initial treatments didn’t help, doctors performed a bone marrow biopsy and discovered the rare blood cancer. She is starting chemotherapy today, Wednesday July 14th and is asking fans for their love and prayers.
