The 2021 Kennedy Center Honors have officially been awarded, and Garth Brooks is proud to be a part of this years honorees.
On Friday, Garth Brooks took the stage with icons Dick Van Dyke, Debbie Allen, Joan Baez, and Midori to be honored with a medallion to celebrate each recipient for their lifetime of contributions to American culture.
Although the awards looked different this year due to the Pandemic, and normally take place in December, the level of class on that stage still shined through.
Garth was especially proud to be among those honored this year.
To loosely quote Maya Angelou
I stand here as one but I stand here for the people who have carried me to this point. Grateful! love, g #KCHonors pic.twitter.com/jMpy0Ay8zn— Garth Brooks (@garthbrooks) May 22, 2021
Garth is the first artist to win the CMA’s Entertainer of the year honor seven times. He has earned 14 Grammy nominations and two wins, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2012 and into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2011, and is now the proud owner of a Kennedy Center Honors medallion.
Looks like Trisha is pretty proud of her man as well.
