If you are a Blake Shelton fan today is a good day because his new album Body Language has been released!
This is the 12th studio album Blake has released. The title track was written by Zach and Colton Swon. You may recall that they were on Team Blake on The Voice as The Swan Brothers. The duo made it to the Finals during season four of the show. Blake has remained close to the brothers since then. Blake loves the song they wrote and says he feels a special connection to the lyrics.
“Body Language’ is a song that my friends The Swon Brothers co-wrote, and I just love the song because it has such a unique melody, and I actually, honestly, really relate to the song. The first verse really hit home with me. After 20 years of touring with loud music blowing my brains out … I’m actually going a little bit deaf I think, and that’s what the first verse is about if you ask me.”
While this new album is coming out in the first half of 2021, Blake says this project is not “quarantine album” per se…
“You know, I can’t sit here and say that this album was created during the pandemic because it dates back way further than that. We’ve actually been working on this album for probably over two years now, I think … And we’ve recorded parts of it in Nashville, Oklahoma, Los Angeles … some of it out on the road that I don’t even remember where we were. But we were definitely able to focus in and finish the album during this pandemic. I think we only actually recorded three songs during the pandemic, believe it or not. Just been waiting for the right time to release this music.”
Body Language by Blake Shelton includes the #1 single “Happy Anywhere” featuring Blake’s fiancé Gwen Stefani and his current single “Minimum Wage” among the 12 tracks on the album. Listen for both of those songs on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104. The album is available everywhere now.
