Sam Hunt’s latest single “Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90s” has moved up to take over the #1 spot on the singles charts for country radio airplay.
The advanced release of the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts show Sam moving from number two to number one on both charts.
Sam recently said that this song shines a spotlight on a negative about how connected society has become these days.
“‘Breaking Up Was Easy in the ’90s’, that’s a song that kind of speaks to the times a little bit. My favorite line from that song is ‘Modern love leads to modern hearts breaking. I’m just a product of my generation.’ Just a fun, kind of simple reflection on how much more difficult it is to be so connected, the downside of being so connected, nowadays.”
This is the eight career #1 single for Sam. It is from his #1 sophomore studio album Southside available everywhere now.
Sam is going to be a headliner for Tailgate N’ Tallboys in Peoria this summer. Listen weekdays today, May 17th through Friday, May 28th with me, Buck Stevens, at 2 p.m. on B104 to win tickets to the concert.
Congratulations to Sam Hunt on his eighth career #1 single “Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90s.”
