Luke Combs has become one of country music’s biggest names. However, Luke recalls a time in the early days of his career when he literally had to “look up” to the “big boys” in country music.
“I actually played a show one time in North Carolina. It was me and Chris Young and Brett Eldridge. It was the first weekend I moved to Nashville, but I had booked it before I knew that I was going to move. So, I had to move to Nashville then I had to drive all the way like 10 hours back passed Raleigh. They had a spot for my bus in the parking lot and it was in the middle of Chris’ two buses and Brett’s bus. And I just pulled my little Dodge Neon right in the middle of both of those buses. And I got out and I said ‘Man, it is what it is man, I’ll have a bus one day.”
I can just see Luke pulling his little Neon in between two tour buses and looking up out of the windshield at the buses towering over him. LOL
Luke is now a headliner with his own tour full of buses, semi-trucks, stage, lighting, sound and everything else a country music superstar needs on tour.
