Tenille Arts has scored her first number one single with her song “Something Like That.”
The advanced release of the Mediabase/Country Aircheck Singles chart show that Tenille has moved from #3 to #1 for this week’s chart. It has taken “Something Like That” 52 weeks to reach the pinnacle of the chart.
The Canadian country singer/songwriter was able to look at her own life growing up for inspiration about real life love when writing the now chart topping song.
“I actually mentioned my parents in the second verse of this song – just talking about growing up, looking up to a really great love, and for me, that was my parents, and my grandparents. I got to see a lot of great relationships … and not only the really great parts, but also the parts that are difficult, and the things you have to work through. So, to me, I knew that love isn’t some fairy tale, like Disney (laugh) I know there are struggles, and that there are things to work through, and I’m just so thankful that I had love like that to look up to, and kind of idolize a realist love.”
“Something Like That” can be found on the album Love, Heartbreak, & Everything in Between available everywhere now.
On the Billboard Country Airplay singles chart for this week, Gabby Barrett is spending a third week at #1 with “The Good Ones” according to the advance release of that chart.
Listen for both songs on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.
