When Brett Young and his wife Taylor were expecting their first child, they did a gender reveal using Brett’s love of baseball, by having him hit a paper mache baseball, which exploded into a cloud of pink dust when he hit it. Now that they’re expecting their second child, Brett says, “We are going to do something when we announce the gender. I don’t think we’ve decided on how.”
Brett and his wife want to give baby #2 his or her own unique gender reveal, so they’re not going to do the baseball thing again. He says, “We really like the idea of [hitting a color-filled] golf ball, but Chris and Lauren [Lane] beat us to it. So, we’ll see.”
Ultimately the decision on how to reveal the gender of the baby Brett and Taylor are expecting this summer will be up to his wife, because he says, “I’m only creative when it comes to the song writing side of things. That’ll be Taylor‘s department.”
Based on the fact that expectant parents usually find out the gender of their baby in the 15th – 20th week of pregnancy, odds are good that Brett and Taylor will be finding out sometime in March, so you might want to keep an eye on @brerttyoungmusic and @taylormillsyoung on Instagram, if you want to be among the first to know if their 16-month-old daughter Presley is going to have a little sister or a little brother.
Brett’s latest single “Lady” was written for his daughter Presley, about his wife Taylor. Listen for the single on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.
