Luke Bryan’s latest single “Down To One” is a song he thought was a hit from the very first time he heard it.

He feels like the song checked all the boxes needed for a hit song.

“Well, it’s just you know melodically … it was really, really special … ‘Down To One’ and just saying, the way the chorus is done … it’s got big ole hitsville written all over it, and feels like a hit, and it felt like a hit when I heard the demo. The main thing is that you hope you put music out that people can relate too, and people like and people want to hear in a live show. I feel like this song does all that.”

This week the song move to number five on the Billboard Country Airplay singles chart and is still climbing. It would appear that Luke was right about the song being a hit.
